So I recently quit smoking again, and following a short withdrawal period, I find myself with near-boundless energy as my metabolism corrects itself. I barely use this blog anymore, but I think I’ve found a wonderful use for it now in these wee hours; explanations of how you can be as good and awesome as me. And in honor of my friends’ new blog, I will begin by recommending to you the best feminist blog on the Internet.
As many may know, I hate the man. Fewer people know that my hatred of the man is not simply a comic pose but a pretty strong concern about social justice. And like many people concerned about social justice but still sort of lazy, I read blogs on stuff.
But are all blogs created equal? The answer is no.
I like Feministing for its topicality, but I often find the commentary a little self-congratulatory and at times shallow. Feministe has insightful commentary, but often gets a little too spiritual and earthy for my genteel atheist constitution. Broadsheet, once a trusted ally, is consuming itself in the manner of an ouroborous. What is a socially conscious man about town to do? Friends, I have the answer. The Sexist, written by Amanda Hess. It’s got interesting commentary that doesn’t look for easy answers + hilarious jokes. These are things that I love, relativism and irony being two of my chief exports.
Now I just need a good race blog and I’ll be money. (racialicious, you have failed me for the last time! Join sociological images in the shame pit of my soul)
And you can be money too by reading this blog I suggest.
(To clarify, by commentary I mean the comments by the bloogers on pieces of news, not the comments by random people on the posts themselves. The difference can be staggering.)
