Joe Update October Edition

Chicago Update: I like Chicago. I think I will live here for a while.

Housing Update: Looking at rehabbing a warehouse with a bunch of artists I met on craigslist. In the fantasy scenario I have concocted for this, I’ll be the gruff but lovable writer and play keyboard in the band we form together. It’ll be like Rent, except not stupid and poorly written. Also, hopefully less heroine abuse.

Employment Update: No word from the many employers I have sent applications to. No worries, though. I applied to every market research company in the city, so I’m sure I’ll be able to make a great living participating in focus groups and taste tests.

Costume Update: Halloween is only a week away. Most of my costuming materials are in Georgia, so I had to throw something together from local thrift stores. It’ll be alright, I think.

Seuss Update: Seuss is doing good.

Beard Update: The beard is doing well. It’s at that place where it’s more than stubble but not very long. It’s looking sharp.

Vulgarity Update: Fuck that shit.

Average Daily Calorie Intake Update: ~1200

Guitar Update: I bought a guitar.

Princeton Network Update: There are a lot of people in Chicago who were my year at Princeton who I am only meeting now. It’s sort of strange.

Ghost Update: Me and some new Chicago frends went to this abandoned house today that I’m pretty sure was haunted. Clues scattered about suggested that the previous owners left quickly and under mysterious circumstances. There was also a strange door standing in the middle of the yard. I imagine it is a portal to some kind of nether-realm, possibly hell itself.

Ghost Update 2: Nathalie, Erica, and I went to a party where there was a piano with a ouija board attached where the sheet music should go. We surmised that the ouija board is used by a ghost who lives in an old straw hat on top of the piano so he can instruct the living in the chords necessary to play his infernal ragtime.

Zed Update: Zed’s dead, baby.
